Argonne National Laboratory is about 45 minutes by car from each of the two major Chicago airports, O'Hare and Midway (see map). Limousine service is available from each airport, and major car rental agencies serve both airports. Limo reservations can be made by calling American

To reach Argonne from O'Hare Airport, drive east (toward Chicago) on Interstate 190 to the exit for Interstate 294 south (toward Indiana). Go south on Interstate 294 to the exit for Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis); then take the southbound Cass Avenue exit (273A) off Interstate 55. Northgate Road, the entrance to the Laboratory's main gate, is on the right. From Midway Airport, take Cicero Avenue north to the entrance to Interstate 55 south (toward St. Louis), which will be on your left, then proceed as described above. Lodging:A block of rooms has been reserved for this meeting at the Argonne Guest House, which is located less than a block from the APS conference center (see map). A number of other hotels are located relatively close to Argonne. No special rates have been established for these hotels, and shuttle transportation will not be provided. Please make your reservation directly with the hotel of your choice. At the Argonne Guest House, you can obtain a special meeting rate of $52.50 for a single or $62.50 for a double by referring to the 12th Users Meeting for the Advanced Photon Source when you make your reservations.
