The Sixth International Conference on Biophysics and Synchrotron Radiation will be held August 4-8, 1998, at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory. Fueled by newly available third-generation synchrotron sources and strong industrial interest, research in a number of areas has intensified. Current results in the areas of macromolecular crystallography; non-crystalline x-ray scattering; hard x-ray, UV, and IR spectroscopies; microscopy; medical imaging; experimental techniques and apparatus; and the impact of synchrotron radiation on biophysics, past, present, and future, will be featured at the conference. From invited talks and extensive poster sessions to "Meet the Experts" sessions and juried talks by students and postdocs, attendees will be able to participate in a variety of activities. The conference will provide all participants, from graduate students to Nobel Laureates, with cutting-edge information and new insights into this extremely exciting field.
