The International Union of Crystallography has provided funds that will be used for a $500 award to each of eight "Hot Topics" presenters. "Hot Topics" will be selected from submitted poster abstracts in which the main author is a graduate student or postdoctoral appointee. These abstracts will be evaluated by a panel chaired by the Nobel Laureate Hans Deisenhofer, and those selected as "Hot Topics" will be presented at a special "Hot Topics" session, scheduled for Tuesday evening, August 4, 1998.
If you are eligible to have your poster abstract considered for the juried "Hot Topics" session, please indicate on the abstract submission form if you wish to be considered. Note that the abstract submission deadline has been extended to July 8, 1998, and winners will be notified no later than July 22, 1998.
