Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Group

The mission of the Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Group is to provide support to the APS during operations and maintenance periods. This is accomplished by…

· monitoring the mechanical, vacuum, and water systems of accelerators and beamline front ends

· responding to downtime incidents

· maintaining a spare parts inventory for mechanical, vacuum, and water subsystems

· providing engineering and technician support to other APS groups and beamlines

· assisting in the design and installation of accelerator and front end upgrades

· supporting accelerator R&D programs and APS research goals
