Orbit correction bug

Post by Hwang, Ji-Gwang » 30 Jan 2023, 08:58

Dear Michael,

I tried running "&correct" on a Windows machine with a recent elegant version (2022 Nov. 15).
But it was completed prematurely without any error message (see the attached picture).

The same file is tried on a different version (2018 Jun 13) and works fine. It looks like a bug.
Could you check it and please update the code?

Ji-Gwang,

There may have been some changes in orbit correction methods that affect your simulation. However, without the files I can't tell.

Please upload all the files necessary to reproduce the problem.

Ji-Gwang,

Thanks for the lattice file. Can you also post the .ele file?

Dear Michael,

I thought I posted a zipped file including a lattice and .ele file but it was not.
Here I enclosed the file. Please check it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards

Ji-Gwang,

I can't duplicate the problem with version 2022.0. I've attached my files.

Dear Michael,

I tried to run the attached file on a Windows machine with the recent version of Elegant (2023.1.0) but it was not working.

Apart from this issue, the download of SDDS Python 3.10x64.msi on the APS website is not accessible.

Ji-Gwang,

I tried the files I uploaded on a Windows 11 machine from the cygwin shell using the latest 64 bit versions from our web site. It ran without any issues. I'm not sure what to suggest. Perhaps try another machine?
