A bug was reported by Max Cornacchia and Simone DiMitre that affects RFCA and RFCW elements:
If a long RFCA/RFCW is split into several shorter RFCA/RFCW elements, you might think you should set the interior END1_FOCUS and END2_FOCUS flags to zero. However, due to a bug, this would result in incorrect results. Instead, set all the END1_FOCUS and END2_FOCUS flags to 1. The interior focusing kicks cancel, so the results are fine. This bug will be fixed in the next release.
Max and Simone also found that the default value of N_KICKS=1 is not good in some cases, and that N_KICKS=0 (matrix model) is better. It is recommended for energy less than 50 MeV that N_KICKS=0 is used. If N_KICKS non-zero is needed to get more accurate modeling of WAKE and LSC effects, then be sure N_KICKS is large enough for results to converge.
