floor_coordinates: vary_ele vs alter_ele vs error_ele

Am I right with the assumption that floor coordinates are calculated from the values in the lattice file, i.e. before vary_element and error_element are applied? Only the alter_elements command is applied before floor coordinates are calculated?

Yes, that's right. Also, floor coordinates are updated, but not written out, during optimization.

It would be a good thing to remove this limitation. I'll add it to my list. Meanwhile, you can use alter_elements and a script to get the same result. Please see the attached file for an example.
