Laser heater simulations

Post by simona.bettoni » 13 Sep 2013, 07:16

Good morning,
I am trying to simulate the effect of the laser heater, using the element LSRMDLTR. I am using as power of the laser values from 1e-4 up to 1e-3 W. The wavelength of the laser is about 1 um. My bunch length is about +-4 ps. In my distribution I have 5 millions particles for the moment.
I am in particular interested in seeing up to the 4th harmonic in the current profile in the laser heater. I have really a lot of noise. Is there any trick I could use or have I just to increase the number of particles? I tried to put some filtering, but maybe there is a better thing to do or I can do it better.
I upload the file .lat in case you want to have a look to it.
Thanks for any suggestion.

Hi,
I think I fixed the problem. I was simply putting a very low value of power and I was not putting the waist of the laser spot. Now I have something which is generating a modulation which makes sense and everything seems fine.
Thanks in any case.
