problem with LSC

Post by Philippe Piot » 19 Oct 2011, 15:55

Hi,
I am trying to track with longitudinal space charge and keep getting an error of the form:

generating bunch 1.0
dumping bunch
tracking 1000 particles
Warning: only 0 of 1000 particles were binned (LSCDRIFT)!
This shouldn't happen.

Terminated by SIGSEGVProgram trace-back:

Does anyone know where such an error can come from? Thank you! -- Philippe.

Philippe,

Can you post a minimal example that shows the problem?

HI Michael,
Here a simplified example that reproduces my issue. Thank you! -- Philippe.

Philippe,

The problem is that the LSCDRIFT definition doesn't have the number of bins specified with the BINS parameter.

We'll modify the code so that it handles this better, but supplying a value should resolve the problem.
