correct_tunes

Dear all,

if I want to correct the tunes for my lattice. For example for two quads families, I am getting different values for the quad's strengths, if my initial parameters for the quad strengths are different. Although the desired tune value is the same. any explanation?
and one other question what does the parameter dK1 exactly?

Regards,
Youssef

Youssef,

That does seem odd. If you have only two families and if the convergence is good in all cases, I would expect the same strengths in the end. Can you post your files?

Hi Michael,

you are right in case of two families, it is the same, but in case more than two families, the strengths are not the same...
is it because the system is overdetermined?

Youssef,

Yes, with more than two families it is overdetermined and the results will depend on the starting point. Decreasing the K1_weight value might reduce the dependence on initial conditions, since larger values mean that more value is placed on keeping changes in K1 small.
