SDDS and Python on Windows?

Post by dondreka » 28 Jan 2013, 08:04

Hi all!
From the small number of hits when searching the web and the forum on SDDS and Python, I take it that there's little support for Python and SDDS anyway. However, I would still be grateful for any hints/instructions/links on getting the Python sdds module to work on Windows. I'm not an experienced Python extension writer, or I would give this a try myself. I'm using the WinPython ditribution (2.7.3.2) on a 32bit Windows-XP system. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and cheers,
David

David,

If you download the source code, there is a module for python support in epics/extensions/src/SDDS/python. Contact Bob Soliday at APS for additional help, since he's the author.

I'll put together a Python/SDDS installation for Windows when I get back from vacation. Just let me know which version of Python you have installed and if it is 32 or 64bits.
