Suggestion to linearize the z-delta phase space?

Post by Zamank » 12 Sep 2017, 17:43

HI All,

If I wanted to linearize the longitudinal phase space of a linac+linearizer system for a given linac phase (which should remain constant during optimization) does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to go about this?

Currently, I am using elegant's simplex optimizer/minimizer with the optimization term "s56 1e6 *" while varying the XBAND (phase, voltage). I attached a sample *.ele file.

But I am wondering if theres a better way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Linearizing the phase space should correspond to the minimum longitudinal emittance, so I'd try minimizing "el".
