Hi Michael,
Would be possible to get an element in elegant that models a laser pulse - electron bunch interaction?
For example, following the methodology in Pan et al (https://journals.aps.org/prab/pdf/10.11 ... .22.040702) Eq. 4. which was implemented using TRACY.
The interaction would be modelled as a Monte Carlo simulation where only some of the macroparticles are effected.
The x', y' and momentum values of a select few random macroparticles would be affected.
Alternatively, would it be possible to model this using a different existing element or via an external script using the SCRIPT element?
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Laser-Electron Interactions
Joe,
That would be pretty easy to implement, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it.
Meanwhile, it is easy to do with a SCRIPT element, which allows you to transform the particle distribution using an external program or script.
