I see that RHEL8's version of mpicc and mpicxx are using the -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 option. This option has caused problems for Pelegant in the past. I have removed it from my development virtual machine and rebuilt the RPM.

That appears to have fixed the problem. I re-ran the simple tracking example that I had attached to the previous post and it worked. I then calculated a frequency map using Pelegant and it also worked. So, I am 2 for 2 this morning.
