Units of fractional strength error in magnets

Post by twatanabe » 09 Mar 2011, 05:07

Dear Michael and others,

I am not sure if this is a bug, but would like to ask about the units of FSE. In the elegant manual, it says the units of FSE of KQUAD, KSEXT etc., , are "M" (meter?). The units, "M", are also found in the output file .fin. What is "M"?
I would like to apply, for example, the strength error of 0.1 %, so I thought I just put "FSE=0.001", but was not able check if this is right or not by checking .erl file.

Thank you,

Takahiro

Takahiro,

Those are typographical errors. FSE has no units, so a 0.1% error would be FSE=0.001.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. It will be fixed in the next release.
