coupled_twiss_output broken?

Post by dondreka » 16 Mar 2023, 10:47

Dear Michael and Bob,

coupled_twiss_output seems to be broken from version 2022.1 on. I'm running the standard Elegant on Windows. The attached files demonstrate the problem: when running cpldtwiss.ele, Elegant will crash once it starts processing the coupled_twiss_output command. The error occurs for all releases of Elegant newer than 2021.4. With Elegant version 2021.4, the script runs without errors and gives the expected output for the coupling caused by an electron cooler solenoid in our SIS18 machine.

I'd appreciate if you could look into this.

Best regards,
David

I want to add that the problem does not occur on linux. I just had the chance to run the script (modified to convert DOS line endings to linux ones) on Ubuntu 22.4 (using the open-mpi rpm package from the download site), and there it runs without errors. I attach the modified files for your convenience. The optic has been changed slightly to make the coupling more visible...

Best regards,
David

I have posted an updated version for Windows. It was missing some of the MKL redistributable libraries.
