could it be that during optimization stability was completely lost, i.e. DaArea=0, and optimization algorithm (simplex) just could not make a step back where aperture existed or makes a step back and the next step again takes it to the same bad point. Therefore, optimization algorithm is stuck and it needs some random push to get out of this point.
Another possibility is that during optimization DA became one dimensional, for example large in X direction and very small in Y, but the square (DaArea) is still large and n-line search with given step could not find any change in DaArea.
