Is it possible to compute the TR wake with irregular time step and charge

Post by Xiaozhong » 10 Jul 2019, 02:50

I want to simulate the following situation:
a) a linac with transverse RF modes of accelerating structure;
b) multi-bunch mode with irregular time and charge sturcture, for example, 0.1nC(0 ns), 1nC(1 ns), 0.1nC(2 ns), 0.1nC(3 ns), 1nC(10 ns), 0.1nC (20 ns).
Is there any convenient way to simulate this situation?
Thanks.

Yes, it is possible to simulate such things using the FRFMODE and FTRFMODE elements to simulate monopole and dipole higher-order modes.

See the attached example, which uses the pattern you described to simulate beam breakup as a function of total charge.
