SMOOTHDIST6

Post by jrowland » 23 Apr 2009, 05:06

Hello

Is the SMOOTHDIST6 script from "Modeling of the microbunching instability, M.Borland, PRSTAB" available for use with Elegant?

Thanks

James

James,

It should be part of the installation. Try typing "smoothDist6s". If not, you can try install the attached script.

Thanks, it's in the elegantTools directory in elegant-21 (missed that one).

James,

Just a word on the use of smoothDist6: it is best used for determining the microbunching gain curve of the system. Because of the algorithm used, some of the detailed correlations among various phase space coordinates will get lost. If you just want to increase the number of particles without adding modulations, I suggest using another script, called doubleDist6. I don't think it is in the distributed source yet, so I've attached a copy.
