MONI question - beam position monitor
For a MONI element, where along its length L are the x and y positions assumed to be? The MAD documentation states for a BPM of non-zero length L, the beam position is taken to be at the center of the element (L/2). Does this remain true for elegant?

Re: MONI question - beam position monitor
In elegant, the monitor readout is the beam position at the end of the element, not the center.
Normally, I use zero-length monitors to avoid confusion.

Re: MONI question - beam position monitor
So, it looks like we should use a zero-length MONI and then DRIF elements on either side to represent the actual BPM can.
Sounds good to me. Thanks a bunch!
