Dipole Spectrometer

Hello,

I am using a dipole for an energy measurement in a linac.
As you can see on the example I've attached, the beam leaves the side edge of the rectangular dipole.

I am wondering about the correct way to implement this in elegant. Which is the best element to use and how should E1 & E2 be set?

Many thanks in advance!

Daniel,

That configuration is very close to a sector dipole, for which E1=E2=0. Your exit angle is not quite normal to the magnet face, but requires a slightly negative value for E2, assuming ANGLE is positive. The way to remember this is that E1=E2=0 is a sector magnet, while E1=E2=ANGLE/2 is a rectangular magnet (as seen by the beam).
