Longitudinal wake input file

Hi Michael,
I'm new user of elegant (also in accelerator physics) and started with elegant examples. I have to use wake element in lattice file. It's a silly question, How should I create green functions input file? I mean to say what is the relation between W, t and z and is there any file with elegant that creates it.

Hello again,
Please tell me how I can create Wake input file. I read the manual there you have explained about the preapring beams for bunch-mode simulations using bunched beam and can be loaded by sdds_beam, but I didn't get how to create Wake element input files.

Madiha,
These are typically created using one of two methods:
- Based on an analytical expression for the wake of a particular object. Section 3.2.4 of the Handbook of Accelerator Physics and Engineering (2nd Edition) has a large table. In this case, you can use programs like sddssequence and sddsprocess to make a table, or else use whatever programming language works for you.
- Using one of several computer programs, such as ABCI, ECHO, MAFIA, or GDFIDL.
In either case, the data must end up in SDDS format. Attached is a basic run for LCLS-I that includes a subdirectory of wake files. Studying these may be of help. (These are all from P. Emma, SLAC.)
