Preferred Linux variation for APS codes?

Is there a preferred flavor of Linux for compiling & running the APS accelerator code suite?
Or, perhaps as importantly ... is there a particular release that you would *not* recommend for the APS codes, i.e. because of known quirks or problems of with installation?

John,
We use CentOS on our cluster, RHEL6 on our workstations and laptops, without any issues. I use various releases of Fedora at home and on my personal laptops, with no issues.

Redhat, CentOS, Scientific Linux, Debian and Ubuntu should all be good. Personally I have most familiarity with CentOS because that is what we run on our cluster. You might run into a few issues with bleeding edge versions of Fedora but even that should be ok now that I have released the BuildSDDSOnLinux script which will let you compile your own custom version of SDDSToolKit.rpm. It had become a bit of a hassle releasing our pre-compiled code and ensuring that it would run on every odd variant of Linux.
