Replace and exclude

Dear Michael and collaborators,
I do I exclude more than one element (BPM_3 and BPM_5) name in the following:
&replace_elements
name = BPM_*
exclude = "BPM_3 BPM_5"
&end
The above (and other variants I have tried) does not seem to work.
