about the time-profile in laser heater

Hi Michael,

I want to confirm that in the new feature of the laser time profile for laser heater, it means the intensity profile, not the field amplitude. Since the intensity of Gaussian pulse is sqrt(2) shorter than its real amplitude, I assume to prepare the input file based on intensity. thanks.

Yuantao,

Sorry that the manual is vague. The time profile is applied to the electric and magnetic fields. That is, E -> E*Profile(t) and B->B*Profile(t).

Thanks Michael. So the time profile is for the field amplitude.

Also, I assume the the laser beam waist is set at the center of the wiggler automatically, and the laser spot size w0 = 2 sigma_r. Is that correct?

Yuantao,

Yes, that's correct.
