Hi all,
i have a problem, when i change the values for EHKICKER (HKICK or VKICK) and want to output the twiss, the xApertures and yApertures values are changing...I wonder why? I tried EHKICK and EVKICK, the results are the same (changing the apertures values).
Could you please help me get to the bottom of this problem?
Regards,
Youssef

Re: Aperture for EHKICKER, EHKICK, EVKICK
Hi Youssef,
I think the reason is that the introduction of EHKICKER changes the closed orbit, and when ELEGANT computes xApertures and yApertures it takes into account the local closed orbit deviation, i.e., when a particle arrives at a specific point in the ring, if the local closed orbit is nonzero, then the particle sees a reduced physical aperture in either the +x or the -x direction.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Zhe

Hi Zhe,
thank you for your reply. i.e. to have the right apertures, I have to add the amount of the aperture reduction to the aperture's values?
