I have a question about the conventions you use in Elegant.
Is the R56 of a standard chicane negative? And does this implying that the head of the bunch being at t < 0 and the tail of the bunch being t > 0?
Secondly, when considering the acceleration through an RF cavity, is the formulation being E = V sin(phi + kz) or E = V sin(phi - kz)?
I notice in the manual that you state that assuming a positive RF voltage, PHASE=90 corresponds to being on-crest. However I can't seem to find the answer to these other convention questions in the manual.

The RFCA element is standing wave, so it is just E = V sin(omega*t + phi0), where t is the particle arrival time.Secondly, when considering the acceleration through an RF cavity, is the formulation being E = V sin(phi + kz) or E = V sin(phi - kz)?
