Hi, All,
I am trying to impose density/energy modulation in a beam distribution. At the first step, I applied smoothDist6s to an input(given) beam distribution generated previously from elegant itself, say, "A.bun" (which contains columns of x,xp,y,yp,t,p in standard output format). I wrote the script as follows, but it shows some error message:
$ smoothDist6s -input A.bun -output A.out -factor 2 -rippleAmplitude 2 -rippleWavelength 50
Error1: Error for C:\Program Files\APS\SDDS ToolKit x64\sddspfit.exe:
Unable to open file /tmp/tmp556-jcytsai.fit for writing (SDDS_InitializeOutput)
I searched some possibly related topics on the forum but still did not get the solution. Can anyone help with this?
Thanks very much for the help!

Cheng-ying,
I would guess that your system does not have a /tmp drive, that it is full, or that you don't have permission to write to it.

Hi, Michael,
Sorry for my late reply. After that, I install ELEGANT in Linux platform and it works well.
Thank you.
