Hi Michael and others,
I would like to use a train of bunches, each bunch represented by one macro particle but with different charge. Is that possible?
I have created sdds files (to be used in sdds_beam), similar as in the example CBI. It has a parameter "Charge" for each page. Does it define the total charge of particles listed in that page?
Also, what effect does the element "CHARGE" then has if I apply it to change the total charge of the beam?
Best regards,
Martin

Re: train of bunches with different charge
Martin,
Unfortunately, elegant doesn't have the ability to simulate particles with variable charge. The only workaround I can suggest is to generate multiple identical particles to represent ratios of charge. It's not very efficient.

Dear Michael,
thank you for your reply. Right, I have also thought of doing that. I think it will do the trick for my purpose.
Best,
Martin
