Fractional Strength Error

Post by fliller » 24 Mar 2010, 09:51

Mike,

I would like to simulate the effect of differences in power supplies on the NSLS-II booster. In particular what I would like to simulate is that effect of a combined function dipole or quadrupole family being too strong or weak relative to the reference momentum (as if the power supply current was slightly too high or low). It seems that I can use the FSE parameter to fractionally increase of the strength of a family. If I have a CSBEND with a K1 and K2, does FSE change the strength of the quadrupole and higher terms as well as the bend angle? If so, this sounds exactly like what I need. If not, how do I do it?

Ray,

The FSE parameter does what you need. This is true for CSBEND and SBEN elements.
