How to include short-range wakefield and long-range wakefield?

Post by Cai_Meng » 02 Dec 2018, 12:46

Dear Prof. Michael Borland,

In the Linac simulation, I want to include short-range wakefield and long-range wakefield. For the short-range wakefield I use RFCW (wakefiled is from 0 to S0) and for the long-range wakefield I use LRWAKE (wakefield is from S0 to S1). The input beam is multi-bunch by sdds_beam. But there is the error: "Error: The beam is longer than the longitudinal wake function ". How can I simulate this case? Any suggestions are grateful. Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,
Cai

Cai,

That warning means that your bunch is too long for the short-range wake file that you gave to RFCW. Try extending the data in that file to longer times.

Dear Michael,

Thank you very much!
I have found the problems:
1) Yes, the bunch or momentum tail is too long, some particles fall into next bunches, so i cutoff the momentum tail.
2) There is a problem with the setting of run_control and sdds_beam.

Best regards,
Cai
