Vertex point (-VP) vs magnet center (-C)

Post by libov » 22 Nov 2016, 08:40

Dear Michael,

I'm using floor_coordinates command to get the absolute coordinates of the magnets.

For dipoles, one can get three points: the vertex point (-VP), the magnet center (-C) and the exit.

My question is: how is the center defined? Is it the center of the line connecting entrance and exit?
That is, point D on the attached drawing?

(one could also in principle define it in a different way, e.g. the symmetry point on the trajectory, i.e. point C)

Thanks!
Slava
