scaling transfer matrix like in MAD8

Post by jzemella » 13 Apr 2016, 03:18

Hi Micheal,

is there a way to scale the transfer matrix
like the MAD8 way using the deltaP parameter?

Johann,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was on vacation.

I'm not familiar with this feature of MAD8. Can you be more specific?

of course...

I think MAD made the assumption that for small energy deviations
scaling eg the k-value of a quad is the same like changing the energy of the particle

The scaling is implemented as following:

k_quad => k_quad / (1+deltaE)

and for a bend the implementation is done a little bit more complicated.

Sorry for mixing up the parameters names

deltaP==deltaE : the momentum deviation (energy deviation)
