LEUTL Compression Question

Post by Zamank » 24 Sep 2015, 12:18

Hi Michael,

I am investigating the CSR effect in the LEUTL beamline (attached are the *.lte and *.ele files). My first step is to compress the bunch as much as possible in the bunch compressor to exacerbate CSR. I am having trouble doing this and I am only able to get down to ~300um (Yine has told me she was able to simulate 30um compression).

Just wondering if I am doing something wrong here. Also, I realize there are no CSRCSBENDs in the *.lte file. I was planning to add those in after I investigated compression factors of the chicane.

I noted any changes I made to the deck with "!CHANGED".

Thank you!

Sorry, I'm on travel and have a very slow connection. I'll try to get back to you in the next few days.

I was able to get ~200 um using the optimizer. It's best to keep the total beam energy fixed. See attached.
