Energy loss due to CSR

Post by tennant » 09 Sep 2009, 07:23

Hi,

Is there a preferred method for monitoring the energy loss due to CSR through a chicane? Thanks.

Chris,

There are two main options:

1. In run_setup, use the centroid parameter to specify the name of a file to which centroid information will be written. The relevant quantity is Cdelta, defined as <p>/pCentral-1.

2. Add several WATCH elements with mode="coordinate" to see the change in the particle distributions, including energy loss. For example, you could add a WATCH element before and after each dipole.
