CSR simulations with CSRCSBEND

Post by weijie » 24 May 2020, 21:52

Dear Micheal or someone interested:
Since there don't have a CSR option in the FEL radiator,I am using CSRSCBEND to simulate the CSR effect in a FEL radiator. But when I am tracking, there is warning saying that particle acquired undefined slopes when integrating through kick multipole.I don't know how to fix it up.Loooking forward to your answers. Thanks a lot.

That error indicates that a particle has very large amplitude or very large energy loss. You might be able to resolve the issue by adding a physical aperture (e.g., using MAXAMP), but it would be a good idea to understand why the large amplitude or energy loss is occurring. Possibilities include noisy CSR calculations from too few particles or too many bins.

Thanks for the help of the last error. But there was another problem. I wrote a 'beam.sdds' and send it to the sdds_beam, but the output seems totally wrong. The emittance grew rapidly which was not realistic. The beam file and latttice file is in the attachment. I wish you can give me some advise.
