LSC_INTERPOLATE in CSRDRIFT

Post by nakamura » 08 Feb 2020, 02:08

I have a few questions about LSC calculation in Elegant.

I had different simulation results from different LSC_INTERPOLATE values (0 and 1) for the same LSC_BINS number in CSRDRIFT. LSC calculation seems to be done by Elegant for both of LSC_INTERPOLATE=0 and 1.
Please explain both meanings of LSC_INTERPOLATE=0 and 1. Which we should select, LSC_INTERPOLATE=0 or 1?
I would also like to know a suitable LSC_BINS number.

Thanks
Norio

Norio,

LSC_INTERPOLATE=1 means that the LSC "voltage" is interpolated in the interior of the bins. This should produce a smoother variation of LSC over the particles, and is recommended.

For guidance in setting LSC bins, please see the discussion of modeling methods in https://journals.aps.org/prab/pdf/10.11 ... .11.030701
