Hello,
I would like to install Elegant and all related features that are necessary to take full advantage of program’s capabilities. I am working with OS X El Capitan and I am a Unix non-expert.
For the moment, I downloaded and unpacked darwin-x86_elegant.tar.gz in a folder "/Applications/ELEGANT". Should it be enough to have both Elegant and SDDS utilities running? I also put the file defns.rpn in the same folder, but I am not abe to define the environment variable RPN_DEFNS (the statement "setenv RPN_DEFNS /Applications/ELEGANT/defns.rpn" does not work).
I tried to look into the forum but I was not able to find a step-by-step procedure.
Could you help? Many thanks.
Installation
Re: Installation
I put together an installation guide for OS X. Hopefully this will help.

Re: Installation
Dear all,
I am not able to download softwares (e.g., Elegant and SDDSToolkit, self-installing Windows packages) from the AOP page,
https://www1.aps.anl.gov/Accelerator-Op ... s/Software
since approximately one week.
I tried from several networks, the problem seems to be related to the webpage.
Any indication on how to do it, or when it could become available again?
Thanks,
Simone
