strange error

Post by jtobin » 26 Jun 2012, 16:31

I just installed elegant on my new 64-bit computer system. I installed cygwin first and then went on to do the standard procedure. When I type elegant (or Pelegant) at the prompt, it does nothing. No errors.
Just the prompt appers.
But if I type sddsplot it works by displaying the usage information. My path is set properly to /cygdrive/c/aps/elegant. I wonder what is going on?

regards,
Charles

I don't know what is happening here. I've never tried to run it on a 64bit Windows computer before so there may be some issue there. What version of Windows are you using?

My version is Windows 7 enterprise. I got this computer because of its advertised Xenon CPU.

Just to close this question out. The solution was to install the 32bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... px?id=8328

On a related note, the 32bit version of mpich2 also had to be installed as opposed to the 64bit version.

In the future, I hope to have native 64bit versions of our software available for Windows.
