Re: MOGA optimizer for rings
Hello Zeus, As I know you should use this command; geneticOptimizer -input optim1.sdds -reduce 1 -contin 1 regards, Sara Thanks soliday, Still fighting with the aps example, when trying to run: geneticOptimizer -input optim1.sdds -reduce 1 I get the following error: Error: optim1.all file found but ...

Re: MOGA optimizer for rings
Hello everybody, I'm using MOGA for optimization DA in my lattice, but there is a problem. I want to do tracking for 1024 turns, so in runJob1, I increased the number of turns to 1024 but the DA is different in two different situation; 1. plot DA by optim1-******.aper 2. track optim1-******.new in e...

Re: Kicker setting
Sara, The fixed-length constraint does indeed affect the momentum of the particles on the closed orbit. With fixed_length=1, the momentum is allowed to change in order to keep the length of the orbit fixed, which means it is synchronized to the nominal rf frequency defined by the nominal circumfere...

Re: Kicker setting
Dear Michael, I put the fixed_length=0 and it works, thank you so much for your help. As I understand from the manual of ELEGANT, fixed_length refers to momentum of particles, so when I turn on this command, I do tracking for on momentum particle, is it correct? I will talk to RF group to see if we ...

Re: Kicker setting
Dear Michael, Thank you for your answer and sorry if I don't explain the problem in a good way. Let me explain the problem in different way, when I put strengths of bumps equal to below values and do tracking in elegant and MAD, the results show different effect as I attached below. kick of bump1=-0...

Re: Kicker setting
but when I put bumps in their real place (2 of them are placed in the begining of lattice and two of them at the end of lattice) everything goes wrong.
regards,
Sara
It will be great if you can take a look at these files and said me what is my problem in my works.regards,
Sara

Kicker setting
Hello Michael and all friends, I have a problem and It will be great if you can help me. I want to put 4 local bumps in 2 dipole for hitting a defined target, so (x) should be offset during these bumps and then become zero. I put the value for these bumps in lattice and track particle in ELEGANT and...

Re: What's wrong with my kicker setting?
Hello Michael and all friends, I wanted to see the effect of 4 horizontal bumps in my lattice. I didn't consider any error, but when I plotted Cx-s, I couldn't see a closed orbit. I checked the lattice in MAD-X and the results were totally different actually there is a closed orbit! Also, I removed ...

Re: Criterion for lost or unstable particles
Dear Michael, I search a lot about the mis-matching in DA with bunched-beam method and two other methods when I put initial real value of lattice. The initial value of ESR ring is emit_x = 2.014e-07 beta_x = 12.83 emit_y = 2.014e-08, beta_y = 13.37 when I put these parameters in the bunched-beam met...

Dear Michael,michael_borland wrote: ↑16 Jul 2018, 10:16Sara,
That's an odd result and shouldn't happen. Can you share the settings you used for both modes?
--Michael
I have attached the lattice and results.
Thanks for your help.
