Re: smoothDist6(s)

Everything tests out okay:

"echo $RPN_DEFNS" gives C:\WINDOWS\defns.rpn
"$ rpn" gives Welcome to rpn version 6, by Michael Borland and Robert Soliday (June 1999).
"rpn> pi" gives 3.141592653589793

smoothDist6(s)

Hi, Not sure if this is a bug or not. The SDDS documentation says that the command is "smoothDist6s" but when you click on it for more details, it says it is "smoothDist6". Typing "smoothDist6" gives me an "command does not exist" error, while typing "smoothDist6s" gives me the attached message/erro...

Re: Current Distribution

I should've looked at the SDDS Toolkit manual first! I see a sddsnaff now. I don't suppose you have an example for all the steps you discuss in your paper (e.g. make histogram, remove ends, polynomial fit, naff, etc...)?

Re: Current Distribution

Michael, Okay, thanks - it's the linear density. I see it now. As I was reading through your paper I'm able to follow until you describe the numerous steps you take to obtain the gain curve (p. 5). In particular, I am not familiar with NAFF. Any suggestions/help/examples you could provide to underst...

Current Distribution

Hello,

Was reading Michael's PRST-AB on modeling microbunch instability and see lots of figures showing the current distribution (current vs time). Is this column generated in a particular output file or did you compute this using sdds tools?

Thanks,
chris

Re: tracking phase ellipse

Michael,

Yeah, the zero length bunch was the issue. Using csbends seems to work fine.

Thanks!

tracking phase ellipse

Hi, I have generated a phase ellipse which I want to track through a lattice to look at aberrations. Initially I was tracking through a vertical spreader and I see enormous offsets (both in y and y') in the vertical phase space after just the first dipole and quad. In fact, all particles are lost by...

matching workflow

Hi, If I am construct, for example, a FODO cell and ask Elegant to find the matched Twiss parameters, what is the best way to access those values? For example, I then want to fit to those values and do that within a single .ele file without having to look up matched parameters, manually put them int...

Re: sdds command help

Thanks. I was hoping to find a solution that did not require any user intervention (i.e. where one has to type the value generated by the first set of commands into the second command).
