Setting Expand_Hamiltonian to 1 of a CSBEND
Hi Michael, It appears that setting expand_hamiltonian to 1 of a CSBEND produces incorrect result during tracking, for the latest 2019.2.1 version. In the attached example, we compared the results of tracking a particle through a CSBEND w/ expand_hamiltonian set to 1 and 0 (default value), a nontriv...

Closed orbit calculation with BMXYZ elements
Dear Michael and all, I included in a ring lattice two BMXYZ elements each with a 3-D field map, and wanted to study the effect of these field maps on the closed orbit, emittance, etc. One thing I couldn't understand now is that the second BMXYZ element seems to have no effect on the closed orbit. I...

Inconsistent sign convention of dipole etilt and quadrupole tilt
Hi Michael, In the attached example, I tried to add an ETILT error of 0.01 rad to a CSBEND, and a TILT error to a KQUAD. I assume elegant follows the same local reference coordinate system as in MAD. Then tracking results seem to indicate a positive ETILT rotates a CSBEND in the counter-clockwise di...

Re: sddsplot issue in macOS 10.14
Hi Soliday, Thank you for your prompt reply! I have set "export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/X11/lib/flat_namespace" by default, and this worked for macOS 10.13 before I upgraded to macOS 10.14. Anyway, I can still export the sddsplot results to png files, just a little bit inconvenient. Best, Zhe

sddsplot issue in macOS 10.14
Hi, I've upgraded my MacBook to the latest macOS 10.14, but I could no longer run sddsplot properly. For example, when I run "sddsplot -col=s,betax Basic.twi", I got an warning of "Warning: XmManager ClassInitialize: XmeTraitSet failed", followed by the following Error info: Error: attempt to add no...

Re: Different results in tracking with impedance vs. tracking with wake
Dear Mina and Michael,
We did use CST to obtain the impedance and used Pelegant to do the tracking w/ impedance. I had a short note regarding the sign conventions, as shown in the attached files. I hope this helps.
Best,
Zhe

sddsplot libpng issue
Hi, I'm facing an annoying problem with sddsplot. I built SDDS 3.5.1 and ELEGANT 33.1.1 from source on a RHEL 6.5 server, everything works perfectly except when I want to save a plot using the png device. To be more specific, when I run the following command sddsplot -col=s,betax twiss.twi -device=p...

Re: Elegant 33.1.1 released
Hi Michael,
I was trying to compile the 33.1.1 release from source on my ubuntu desktop, and it appears to me the tarball misses a .svn directory, and when I copied the directory from an older release I could successfully compile the package. Just for your information!
Best,
Zhe
