Re: Installation on mac OS
Thank you my bad. Unconsciously I tried to edit the bashrc file instead of zashrc

Re: Installation on mac OS
I downloaded the pre-built version. Here is the usual output from step 4: aamnakhan@10-4-6-241 darwin-x86 % ./elegant Running elegant at Fri Jan 8 09:10:37 2021 This is elegant 2020.5, Dec 10 2020, by M. Borland, J. Calvey, M. Installation on mac OS
Hello, I’m trying to install elegant on macbook pro (macOS BIg Sur ver. 11.1). I downloaded the files at home/sdds dir. and followed all the installation instructions, but still I can execute elegant using ./elegant in the sdds folder only. Elegant was working fine on my old system, and I checked mo...

R56 for a beamline with RFCA
Hello Michael, I come cross two problems while computing R56 from .mat and .sig file in the presence of RFCA: First, in the presence of RFCA in a beamline .mat file doesn’t give the expected output for R56: e.g. in the attached example the R56 should be around 2 m but mat output gives 0.5 m. For th...

Re: Dispersion with locally varying spread
Hi Michael, Thanks for clearing that simulations are fine. I still wonder, is there any correct way to compute the first-order dispersion with LSC in the presence of bends? I am confused if we have variable s6 along the beamline, does it affect the linear <x*delta> . For example, Andrzej Wolski disc...

Dispersion with locally varying spread
Hello Michael, I have confusion about the dispersion definition in .twi and .sig file when local spread changes. 1) LSC kick changes the local spread (from my understanding it doesn't change central momentum): I am doing the simulation for first order so I would guess chromaticity is not an issue he...

R56 and momentum chirp definition in elegant
Hello Michael, I have confusion about the definition of R56. I can get the R56 from .mat file, which is an element of the transport matrix. Second, I can calculate it by particle tracking (.sig file): R56 = s56/s6*s6. If I give some positive value of momentum chirp in the &bunced_beam, then I found ...

Re: R56 with transverse SC
Thank you.
In real simulations Q is much higher (0.77e-12-0.77e-10 C)...I was doing some stuff with this example and you are right about the SC model I will benchmark the results against Impact or astra.
