pass same cavity twice
Hi, All I have question in passing the beam twice through same cavity. When I calculated the twiss parameter, is the length of the lattice between first and second pass of same cavity taken into account. Do I have to define two cavity and manually assign the phase of the second cavity (for the secon...

Spin tracking
Hi, Michael Can dynamics of Spin be added to elegant. We are designing eRHIC , in which the preservation of spin is important in the electron ERL accelerator. We wish to cooperate in start-to-end spin tracking in elegant. And perhaps this is also interesting problem for light sources? Thank you. Yue

Re: Add a prefix or suffix to a existing element name
Thank you, Michael From the manual, my understanding is replace_element requires a pre-defined element. My task is that I have a piece of lattice that will reuse in a machine design many times. I try to assign them different prefix to the name for different locations. Is there smart ways to implemen...

Add a prefix or suffix to a existing element name
Hi, All
Can I use alter_elements command to add a prefix or suffix to a existing element's name, and then save the new lattice to a file?
Thanks,
Yue

Re: Pelegant on Mac Lion
If this won't take your too much effort, I would like to run 32bit version on mac.soliday wrote:As for a 32bit version of Pelegant. Currently I haven't been building it but if you are interested, I could add that to our distribution.
Thank you very much.

Pelegant on Mac Lion
Hi, Bob
Is the Pelegant for Macos avaiable and can it run on lion 64 bit? I did saw discussion on that a year ago but did not find Pelegant binary files in the package.
Thanks,
Yue

Re: reflecting-match lattice in elegant
Thank you, Michael. The Reflect element does the job magically. However, there is one more question. When calculating the twiss_output in this case, the twiss parameter has more than one solution. For this reflected symmetry case, the 1D matrix of the lattice only has two degree of freedom. The othe...

reflecting-match lattice in elegant
Hi,
I have a question on calculating the twiss parameter of a lattice with reflected mirror boundary condition:
beta_start=beta_end
alpha_start=-alpha_end
eta_start=eta_end
etap_start=-etap_end
Is there a simple way to do it in elegant?
Thanks a lot,
Yue
