use of betaxMax in optimisation
Dear all I am trying to use betax,yMax(Min) as part of an optimisation term &optimization_term term = "betaxMax 0.7 0.01 segt 1e3 *" &end however, it does not seem to recognise betaxMax (term that can be seen, e.g. in the relevant Twiss parameter file). unknown token: betaxMax error: too few values ...

Re: elegant 25.3.2 released
Hi, I have tried to use elasticScatteringLifetimeDetailed as suggested, and created myself a file of pressures, something like this SDDS1 &description text="pressure as a function of s", contents="whatever", &end &column name=s, symbol=s, units=m, type=double, &end &column name=Pressure, symbol=P, u...

Re: elegant 25.3.2 released
Can you be more specific on the use of sPeriodic and pressure, e.g. if I put -sPeriodc 30 -pressure 1 I guess I specifiy a pressure of 1 nTorr at position 30, or at every 30 m? My problem consists in specifying the pressures recorded in 24 cells with 6 different probes per cell. Priodicity is someti...

Re: elegant 25.3.2 released
Thanks very much for this example (zip file) that you sent me. I have expanded the compressed file, obtaining a directory named gasScatteringLifetime, I use "Notebook" as a mini-guide to the use of the package. So I first ran with "run 16" over 16 cores to produce the DA and LMA files, this appeared...

Re: elegant 25.3.2 released
Hi Michael and all I would be very grateful if I could have more details on the use of elasticScatteringLifetime, I understand one can use the DA calculated in several parts of the ring. Is the pressure an average or rather one can put the values measured at different position in the ring? Any worki...

coupling definition
I am defining the coupling in my machine using a set of 96 skew quads disseminated around the ring and using a standard optimization procedure. So if I want to define a 0.3% coupling I use lines like &optimization_term term = "MRK1#1.s33m MRK1#1.s44m * MRK1#1.s34m sqr - sqrt MRK1#1.s11m MRK1#1.s22m ...

Re: Tune Correction
Thanks Michael I see the point, but I am still not sure what "odd" means. Our machine has 6 families of quads used for tune corrections Q1D Q2D Q3D Q1B Q2B Q3B and indeed the way we correct is based on a 6x2 response matrix, which is what is simulated in AT for example. So if I want to mimic my mach...

Tune Correction
Hi all, I am correcting the tune in an elegant Diamond model, and was warned that in the manual use of ONLY TWO quad families is recommended. Not knowing that I have been "happily" using all the 6 families we utilize in the real machine, like this: &correct_tunes quadrupoles = "Q1D Q2D Q3D Q3B Q2B Q...
