sddsplot help

Hi,

Still struggling to learn the intricacies of sddsplot... I have data (index, avg, min, max) where I'd like to generate a plot of index vs avg with error bars that extend down to min and up to max for each point (see attached file).

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
chris

plaindata2sdds

Hi, I thought it would be straightforward to convert the attached data file to sdds. I use the command: plaindata2sdds output.txt output.sdds -inputMode=ascii -col=t,double -col=x,double -col=xp,double -col=y,double -col=yp,double -col=p,double but the result is multiple pages of data - which doesn'...

Hi, I would like to simulate a quad scan in which the beamline has a (vertical) chicane between the quadrupole and the observation point. In the newest manual (that I could find) there is no indication of the -includeDispersion option. Also, I'm not quite sure of how it works;I must have to include ...

SDDS Question

Hi, I have two particle distributions in the form of SDDS files, say A.sdds and B.sdds. I'd like to create an entirely new distribution by combining the transverse coordinates of A.sdds (x,x',y,y') and the longitudinal coordinates of B.sdds (t,p). Is there a straightforward way to do that. I was una...

Finding RMS of a distribution

Hi,

So I have SDDS files with beam projections and would like to determine the rms width (for emittance analysis). How do I accomplish that with sddsprocess? I've tried something like sddsprocess -process=col,rms,name but it's not the rms width.

Thanks,
chris

SDDS processing of histograms

Hi,

I'm generating histograms from beam distributions and am wondering if there is a simple set of SDDS commands to calculate the full width of the histogram?

Thanks,
chris

Michael,

Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense.

Re: Understanding Cx and Cy

Michael,

The values peak at +/-2e-04 m. I changed all the CSRCSBENDs to SBENDs and the centroid positions do not change.
