Error using RFCW with LSC
When attempting to use the RFCW element with longitudinal space charge enabled, I am getting the following error: tracking through L01.KSN.TN Error: distance between LSC kicks for L01.KSN.TN at z=3.148100e+001 is too large. Suggest reducing distance between kicks by factor 2.924681e+000 Here is the ...

Default LSC bins in RFCW
This is, strictly speaking, not a bug but a default parameter value issue... Both pelegant and elegant require an even number of bins for longitudinal space charge. The default number of bins for LSC in the RFCW element is 1025. This results in an error message and program termination if one attempt...

Re: Pelegant for Windows - 32 or 64-bit?
Okay ... then, could I make the request for a 64-bit build on elegant and the sdds toolkit tools? I've been working with a 10M particle distribution for the MaRIE linac simulations. Some of the people here would like to be able to take that to around 320M particles (e.g. one electron per). That asid...

Re: Pelegant for Windows - 32 or 64-bit?
Thanks, Bob.
So, that would set a limit of around 19M particles that could be tracked at once?
Thanks much,
- John L.

Pelegant for Windows - 32 or 64-bit?
A hopefully simple question - is the precompiled Pelegant for windows 32- or 64-bit?
A related question - does it matter whether I use the 32- or 64-bit mpiexec to launch it?
Thanks much,
- John Lewellen

WATCH filename bug report
Hello, This is a bug report for the WATCH element filename. I'm using elegant version 25.1.0, running on a Windows 7 machine. Here's a small fragment of the lattice file; the elegant command file is MaRIE.ele look: watch, filename=<filename goes here> MaRIE: line=(bunchCharge,pMatch,& look, LIN.BC, ...

Print or save rpn expressions in lattice file?
Hello, I have a feeling this should be a simple thing, but I can't seem to find how to do it... I'm setting several rpn variables in the lattice file. These are used to compute parameters for use in various elements. For instance, I'm saving the phase shift per cell, frequency, and number of cells i...

sddsplot problem with Cygwin installation
Posted on behalf of a colleague, Evgenya Simakov. (She has applied for but does not yet have board membership here.) She writes: I installed the latest version of Elegant and SDDS toolkit on Windows 7 using self-installing Windows executables. I use Cygwin 1.7.17 to run it. When I type the command s...
