Re: issue tracking with PELEGANT
Michael, Thank you. I checked and the .bun file was not be written. I later realize than pelegant has to be run with a np>1 -- for testing purpose in interactive mode I was using mpiexec -np 1 . Changing to -np 4 worked, i.e. particle got tracked. The other codes I used are usually OK with -np 1 so ...

Re: issue tracking with PELEGANT
Michael, This gets weirder... I did try to run your exec of pelegant and elegant (on IMPROV) on my .ele file have the same observations: Pelegant does not track while elegant does. The same problem occurs on our new linux computer at NIU. I suspect something is wrong with my ele or lte file, but I c...

issue tracking with PELEGANT
After installing PELEGANT on a new cluster I am unable to track particles while the same ele file works fine in ELEGANT. Specifically, PELEGANT seems to do everything fine (e.g. fitting quadrupole magnets) but then does not track the distribution. A simplified example that reproduces the issue is at...

Re: varying a parameter on a turn-by-turn basis
All,
Is there a way to vary a parameter on a turn-by-turn basis in a ring? (e.g. changing the strength of a quadruple as a function of pass number). I thought vary_element could do that but it seems not to be the case. Thank you, -- Philippe.

Re: analyzing WATCH data on the fly during fitting
All,
I actually retract my question! It turns out I was doing something wrong and runing the sdds_beams between fitting iteration and loading the output of the ttracking for next fitting iteration does work. My apologies. -- Philippe.

analyzing WATCH data on the fly during fitting
All, Is there a way, when performing multiple fits sequence and saving lattice in between, to access the output particle distribution for the next fitting step. Namely, I have an incoming beam with strong coupling (so that the Courant-Snyder parameters are not meaninful). I use skew-quadrupole magne...

Re: n_bins in WAKE element
All, To further comment on Wei Hou's post, is there a way to dump the binned current distribution being used by ELEGANT in the wakefield calculation? Such a feature would be very helpful to have especially when the number of bins is automatically set by ELEGANT. This would also give an idea of how t...

saving trajectory associated with macroparticle(s)
Hello,
Is there a way in ELEGANT to save the trajectory of a few macroparticles associated with a bunch while tracking the entire bunch? Thank you, -- Philippe.
