HI Michael,
Here a simplified example that reproduces my issue. Thank you! -- Philippe.

problem with LSC
Hi, I am trying to track with longitudinal space charge and keep getting an error of the form: generating bunch 1.0 dumping bunch tracking 1000 particles Warning: only 0 of 1000 particles were binned (LSCDRIFT)! This shouldn't happen. Terminated by SIGSEGVProgram trace-back: Does anyone know where s...

sddsmatch (issues?)
Hi, I am using sddsmatch to perform a series of matching as part of an optimization algorithm. I just noticed some awkward behavior, rematching, e.g., the horizontal Courant-Snyder parameters messes the transverse horizontal emittance, and for some cases the parameter I am trying the set do not reac...

St and Ss for on ultrarelativistic bunches
Hi, I am using elegant at low energy gamma~10 (for some tests ignoring space charge). I am attaching a typical output file (fin and out) I noticed that sddsprintout -parameter=Ss -parameter=St -parameter=pAverage parmelabeamfwd.fin Printout for SDDS file parmelabeamfwd.fin Ss (m) = 2.163954e-09 St (...

sddsmatchtwiss -zPlane options
Hello, I am confused with the zPlane options of sddsmatchtwiss. 1/ I thought the "chirp" (which I assumed to be defined s56/s55) would set the chirp of the distribution. It looks like it is actually ADDING a chirp. Is my interpretation correct? 2/ Is there a way to set the longitudinal phase space s...

Re: Elegant & SDDS on Mac OS X 10.5
Bob, Thank you for your reply. You are right my system is 64 bits and so are the libraries... I checked and do not see a way to get fink to install 32 bits library on a 64 bits. It seems people usually boot their mac in either 32 or 64 bits. So I guess my only choice if I want to run my mac in 64 bi...

Re: Elegant & SDDS on Mac OS X 10.6.8
Hello All, I recently upgraded to OS X 10.6.8 and installed elegant and the sdds toolbox from the binaries. Elegant is working fine but the sdds toolbox utilities do not. I installed all the libraries following Jim's install note. But keep getting an error stating for some library (which one dependi...

analyzing correlation between different distributions
Hi, I am running elegant and would like to explore correlation between the final transverse phase space and initial particle energy. I can do this in octave easily but thought would try to do this with the sdds toolbox. Below is what I did and it does not work as I expected. I have two file monobeam...

Re: backtracking
Hello, OK, I still have a problem that if I track in a beamline that consist of two matrix element which are inverse of each other the final output does not match the initial input distribution; see attached tar file. I try to simplify my simulation to a simple dogleg. I track in the beamline dogl_D...

Yusong,
You were absolutely right; compiling SDDS2.9 first and then elagant solved my problems. Thanks! -- Philippe.
