png problem // Re: gsl problem compiling SDDS on SL6.2
Hello, Thank you! it did work after installing the gsl-devel. I have a similar problem with png now (when compiling sddsplot); see below. I check and I have libpng-devel-1.2.49-1.el6_2.x86_64 and libpng-1.2.49-1.el6_2.x86_64 already installed. Thank you for your help, -- Philippe. make[2]: Entering ...

gsl problem compiling SDDS on SL6.2
Hello, I tried to update the SDDS package in my 64 bits installation and the compilation was unsuccessful; see below excerpt of output. The problem seems to be related to gsl. I noticed in older version of SDDS the SDDS/src had a gsl directory the later SDDS (2.11) seems not to have gsl. I try insta...

Re: tclsh SDDS OS RPN extension
All, I "fixed" my problem (though I think it is more a "quick-and-dirty" fix): I updated my tcl file and changed the auto_path set to also include the src directory: set auto_path [linsert $auto_path 0 $Argonne/oag/apps/src/tcltkinterp/extensions] This insure the autopath point to the pkgIndex.tcl's...

tclsh SDDS OS RPN extension
All, I recently re-installed from source the elegant/SDDS/oag distribution on a cluster (where I am not superuser). Everything seems to run fine but I am having trouble with tcl/tk intepreter "seeing" the APS libraries/packages (SDDS,etc..). Specifically trying to run something like #!/bin/sh # \ ex...

Re: optimization of R56 for non ultra-relativistic energies
Thank you Michael. I have also played more and noticed that altering my condition and setting the condition so that the right-hand-side is not zero allows me to bring back my final phase space up right. The value I have to set changes with pCentral. Best, -- Philippe.

Re: optimization of R56 for non ultra-relativistic energies
Hi, I am attaching a file that demonstrates what I am trying to do. With momentum set to 1000.72 it all work as I would expect (final longitudinal phase space is upright). If I decrease the momentum (say to 10) the fitting satisfies the matching condition but the tracking results in a final distribu...

R71, R72 optimization of R56 for non ultra-relativistic ener
Hi, I have been fighting on and off with imposing constraints on matrices used to track a non-relativistic beam (beta*gamma~2.7). I think there is still something I am not getting... I would like to impose a constraint of the form A*R51+B*R52=0, where A and B are constants. Since R51=ds/dx_0 and I a...

Re: ncurses libraries
No, there are in the directories you mentioned:
[piot@node1 SDDS]$ ls /usr/lib/libncurses.so*
/usr/lib/libncurses.so /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5 /usr/lib/libncurses.so.5.5
[piot@node1 SDDS]$ ls /usr/include/ncurses*
/usr/include/ncurses.h
Thanks! -- Philippe.

ncurses libraries
All, Just a comment (as I am doing a fresh install of sdds, elegant, etc...), on my system I could not compile SDDS2.9. The compilation would fail on missing ncruses library though the libraries seems to be installed on my system. I had to manually copy them in the /epics/extensions/lib/linux-x86 an...
